Maryland was my home before I moved to Franklinton, NC, six years ago. My husband and I did not want to miss out on the granddaughters, so when our daughter announced that she was moving to NC, I said, "so are we!" My husband got a job and we found a house in three days. We put our house up for sale and sold it in two days and they wanted everything inside and outside of the house. We did our own estate sale twenty minutes after signing the contract. We moved in two weeks with little furniture.
We found the antique stores and bought new-old stuff and pulled our house together in five days! Was that fun or what? My husband agrees to everything I want to do. His support is priceless.
Everything I've ever done has to do with the home. I've been a real estate agent (hated it) and I had an antique shop in Maryland and also a "Quick-Fix" decorating business as well as "Clutter Control". Now you'll find me in my shop in Youngsville, NC called "SweetPeas Antiques & Garden", where I give decorating advice all day long. My joy is in helping others to get the right look and feel for their home. I always ask, "how do you want the room to feel?"
At home, you'll find Bill, my talented husband, making my dreams come alive because he can build anything. I draw a picture and when I come home, it's done. Together we make it one "Crazy Funhouse".
Decorating is just a way to show you care, but don't take it too seriously. Show me a perfectly matched room that goes by tight little decorating rules and I'll just yawn. My only rule is "there are no rules".
If you throw something away, I'll catch it and make it look purty!
